It's game on. The weather has been the main factor. We continue to be plagued by late cold fronts and even a sub tropical system in between. The water and air remain slightly cool and the wind has been howling more days than not. The fish? They are here in amazing numbers! They have not started their reproduction cycle of looping into the gulf and streaming along the beaches in any type of consistency. Most of the fish are not saturated with roe/sperm. That puts them behind in their cycle by at least 4 weeks. In short, we can expect an extended stay. Limited availability remains for July.

Cool, clear water and easterly flows have kept the bite below the norm. However, throughout it all the fish are in tact and in impressive numbers. Besides, what is "the norm" when catching these beautiful animals on a daily basis? You have to take the opportunity when the king comes knocking, but here, when it's just "good", it's still the best the world!

Enjoy the images!
